Newborn thief thwarted by technology and astute nurse

Monday, an astute nurse stopped a woman - Grisel Ramirez, 48, from leaving Garden Grove Hospital with a newborn baby girl that wasn't hers.  Ramirez went to the 5th floor dressed in scrubs and posed as one of the nurses - telling the mother to take a shower before her physician arrived for an examination. The mother, believing her to be credible, left her baby, whereby Ramirez placed the baby in a purple tie-dye bag and attempted to leave the hospital.

Fortunately, the baby was wearing a newborn security item and the alarm was triggered.  She was detained by hospital employees near the exit until police arrived.

Police believe her to be the same woman who has attempted similar abductions at other local hospitals.
Where? How thwarted? Why not put in custody? Those are the questions that remain to be answered. The online search yielded no information about prior attempts.

Mother and baby are doing well.
