How to Protect Yourself From the Sun

June 2-8 is Sun Safety Week. To help raise awareness of sun safety,  we'd like to share a few tips on how to protect yourself from the sun:
  1. Stay in the shade, especially during midday hours (10 am to 4 pm)
  2. Wear clothing to protect exposed skin
  3. Wear a hat with a wide brim to shade the face, head, ears, and neck
  4. Wear sunglasses that block both UVA and UVB rays
  5. Use sunscreen
  6. Drink plenty of fluids.
Don't forgot you can still get a sun burn on a cloudy day in the middle of winter; the sun reflects off of snow, sand, and water. So consider sun safety for all outdoor activities-like swimming, sailing, surfing, or snow skiing.
