10 Fun and Healthy Fall Activities

Goodbye summer, hello fall! Just because it's cooler outside doesn't mean you should stay indoors. Children should be active for at least 1 hour a day, and adults for at least 2 1/2 hours a week. Need some ideas on how to get in some physical activity during the fall months. Here's 10 great ideas:
  1. Rake up (and jump into) leaves together as a family
  2. Go to a pumpkin patch to pick out your Halloween pumpkins
  3. Gather pine cones (they can be used for holiday arts and crafts later in the year)
  4. Go to an apple orchard to pick apples
  5. Visit fall festivals in your community
  6. Build a scarecrow together
  7. Play a game of football, soccer, or kickball
  8. Go to a corn maze
  9. Visit a petting farm
  10. Go to a local farmers' market
